Getting rid of dead skin and renewing your face is important. Have you ever run your hand up and down your arm real fast and seen a lot of dead skin fly away? Humans lose their dead skin as the body continually relenishes itself. Here is a quick little recipe to make a face exfoliator that you might want to try!

The ingredients are probably right in your kitchen!

All you need is a few tablespoons of oatmeal and a little cheesecloth or muslin.

Next, dampen the oatmeal bag in water and rub over your face..gently, don't scrub, just rub it in gently for a couple of minutes. This should be enough to rid your face of dead skin cells and even loosen a few blackheads.

Next, take a little of the wet oatmeal and apply it directly to your face.

Leave it there for about 5 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

You skin will feel refreshed and you will feel really clean.*

Herbal Salve Recipe

1 part lavender flowers

1 part peppermint leaves

Steep in 3 ounces of sunflower oil for 45 minutes.Strain. Melt 2
ounces cocoa butter or coconut oil in microwave or double boiler. Add
2 ounces of beeswax and melt together. Add strained sunflower oil and
mix thoroughly. When mixture cools, add 2 tsp. essential oil of your
choice. (I use peppermint and lavender) Pour into small soap molds or
small plastic container. Peppermint is cooling while the lavender is
topically healing.

Facial Recipes

Almond, Milk, and Honey Scrub

The Almonds cleanse your face while the milk and honey moisturize it.

1 Tbsp ground almonds
1 tsp honey
1 tsp milk or cream

Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl or dish, then apply to your face.

Fragrant Honey Mask

The honey and the eggs in this mask work to tighten your pores and gently hydrate your skin.

1 egg white
1tsp honey
2 drops of essential oil (optional)

In a small bowl or dish, beat the egg white until it is frothy and forms
peaks. Gently stir in the honey and essential oil if your using it.
Apply the mask to your face and let sit for 10 minutes before rinsing your
face.
